It's Thursday!

1. I'm thankful for children's Tylenol. O has been sick this week. She's had a fever, coughing and now her voice is almost gone. I'm taking her to the doctor today to find out what's up, but I'm thankful for Tylenol to help her sleep and to fight her fever.

2. I'm thankful for my family. No matter what, you can count on them. My parents made a delicious meal for my birthday and then my mom babysat for us on Monday so Eric and I could go to dinner. I know she was tired from working all day, yet she still took the time to stay with my girls. Thank you, Mom.

3. I'm thankful our Sunday School was packed on Sunday. Wow! I couldn't believe it - every chair was taken. I love to see teenage girls chasing after Jesus and wanting more of him. There are times I can walk in that classroom and feel defeated because you know they are only there because their parents made them come. Then, there are other times (like this past Sunday), when you can see in their eyes and their expressions they desire to learn more about their Savior. Lord, protect those precious girls in that SS room. May they keep their focus on You and not this world. Hold their fragile hearts in your hand and make them feel beautiful because they are Yours.

4. I'm thankful God loves me. Even if no one else does (which I know isn't true), He does. He desires to spend time with me.

5. I'm thankful God puts me in situations where I am uncomfortable. It's only then I realize my complete need for Him. I often get ahead of myself, make commitments to serve Him and then rely on my own abilities to get me through. I fail every time because that's never what He had in mind for me. He wants to sustain me, but I must submit to Him completely. He promises to never leave me nor forsake me. I stood on that promise this week. "Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age" Matthew 28:20b

6. I'm thankful my little brother is coming home this weekend. But, get this, he's bringing 15 .... FIFTEEN .... of his friends to our house for lunch on Saturday. That cracks me up to even type that sentence. I am thankful he's coming, though and we'll get to meet (interview, examine, quiz) the friends he hangs out with at college.

7. I'm thankful E is enjoying school so much. I had the privilege of being in a Mom's prayer group inside her school on Tuesday. I was walking through the grammar hall praying for each classroom, student and teacher and I passed her room and saw her sitting at her table working. I was so overwhelmed I could hardly breathe. Because 1) she looked so beautiful sitting there 2) she looked so peaceful sitting amongst her friends and teachers and 3) I knew that room was filled with the Lord and she was getting to talk about Him and to Him. That school is such a gift to our family.

8. I'm thankful for my husband. He knows me so well and knows when I need some additional hands. Even if it's just an offer to take E to school one morning so I don't have to get O out of the house, it's a huge blessing. (This morning is one of those mornings).

Happy Thursday, Everyone!

Side note: I'm allowing anonymous comments on my posts now. I have family and friends that e-mail me or call me to comment on a post, but can't leave one on my blog because they aren't registered. I'm going to try this for awhile and we'll see how it goes. What does that mean? It means that any of you can leave a comment now - you don't have to have a blog to do so. Go ahead! I would love to hear from you. Just make sure you sign your name - otherwise, you will all show up anonymous and that's never good :)

Very encouraging, convicting list. A great reminder that we're to be encouraged when times are difficult, when we have more than we can handle. And yes, tylenol too is something to be thankful for, esp since the minute school starts they seem to start spreading germs.

Oh.my.goodness - 15 young adults at your home - wow. I don't know if I could have done that.
I am so sorry that little O is still not feeling better today (Monday) -- I hope she will get some rest tonight.
How awesome that you have E in a Christian school - what a blessing indeed.

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this past Thursday - and Happy belated birthday.

Blessings to you and yours.
