In the meantime, I am thankful for many things.....
1. I'm thankful I had the opportunity to teach our women's Sunday School class this past week. I was more nervous than you can imagine, but those women were so receptive and so encouraging. You know, I realized that we women aren't that different than the teenage girls I normally teach - just a little further along in our walks with Christ. But, we're all looking for validation and love from our Savior. He's the same for all of us no matter our age.
2. I'm thankful for beautiful weather this week. I've enjoyed playing outside with my girls each afternoon on the swing set, blowing bubbles and writing with sidewalk chalk. E wrote 'Welcome Home' at the beginning of our driveway and I've seen it every time I've pulled in this week. It makes me smile each time. We were able to walk on the golf course yesterday (no golfers) and had the best time - seemed like a huge back yard.
3. I'm thankful God revealed to me (through my bible study) how many opportunities I have to influence someone. If you think you don't have those opportunities, make a list of all the people you come in contact with and then answer whether you've influenced them positively or negatively for Christ. There are more than you thought.
4. I'm thankful E misses me when her Daddy takes her to school instead of me. Just this morning, he was taking her and she came back inside to give me one last hug and kiss. She said she would miss me and couldn't wait until 12:00 when I pick her up. I know she loves school, but I love that she looks forward to coming home, too.
5. I'm thankful when I ask O who made her, she answers, "God did!" and then she tells me all the things he made in her ... "Pretty hair, pretty eyes, a sweet baby girl". I love that. She gets so tickled telling me that and wants me to ask her over and over at bedtime.
6. I'm thankful we're heading up the mountain again on Saturday to visit my brother. It's the homecoming game and the last one we'll go to this year. I've said enough about this, but we're really excited to go again.
7. I'm thankful I received this award this week from Dana at Rare and Beautiful Treasures. What an encouragement. I love reading Dana's blog, so to receive this from her is special. Thanks again, Dana.

Found your blog through LPM - you have beautiful pictures - they remind me of where I live in East TN. I loved your post about the Barbie toy - it is difficult to raise young girls to be Godly women - sounds like you are doing a great job!
Your girls just sound so precious!!That is awesome that you got to teach SS, at our new church I haven't gotten the courage to lead in that capacity yet :)
And you so deserve the award, everytime I come over here, I feel lifted. God is really using you to influence and encourage us moms through your blog!!
I get to go the other way in teaching in a few weeks time. I am used to teaching small group, and I get to go to the local school and lead an assembly for the whole school all about Christmas Shoeboxes. i am terrified!
Enjoyed your post very much.
What a great thanks. I too write a post or article and then think, what the heck but I have discovered saving everything is best as you just never know! Enjoy your trip!
Hugs to you!
What a great list! Every time I teach, I feel like those kids teach me! It's such a blessing to work for God! Have a wonderful trip this weekend!
Thank you for the reminder that we are influences on everyone we come in contact with and to choose to be a positive influence! Children have so much to teach us!
Love the welcome home at the end of the driveway! How sweet!!
