I missed posting a Thankful Thursday last week. Taking a moment to recall reasons I am thankful gives me such a new perspective on things. So, here goes...
1. I'm thankful I'm not beginning this post with "I'm tired". It seems I write that often because, well, I say that often. I'm becoming more aware of how much I say it and it's certainly a complaint, so I'm trying to stop.
2. I'm thankful for 5 days of not having to use my thermometer, administer Tylenol and Motrin, and get up in the middle of the night to check if my babies are hot. E has not had a fever since Friday night, and by Sunday she was back to her normal, sweet self.
3. I'm thankful for another good week of Bible Study. Al though I often wish someone else was leading it, I'm enjoying studying the life of Paul and seeing other ladies get excited about it as well.
4. I'm thankful for a big brother that serves the Lord. He has an awesome calling on his life to preach and he has answered that calling with such grace, integrity and wisdom. I was fortunate enough to hear a sermon from him on Sunday night. What was so cool was the fact that he didn't know he was going to preach. Our pastor literally asked him in front of the congregation to speak for 20 or so minutes. You would have thought my brother had studied for months. He spoke straight from Scripture and delivered a wonderful message about making sure you're listening to sound teaching. I'm so over-the-top proud of him!
5. I'm thankful for E and her heart for the Lord. I know I've posted that many times, but I have to mention it again in my 'thankful' list. She has such a sweet heart and she teaches me so much about the Lord. I feel like she teaches me far more than I teach her. We've had 2 wonderful conversations this week about Jesus and what He expects of us. She wants to please the Lord so much and I find that refreshing from a 5 year old.
6. I'm thankful for my blogging friends. I used to have a blog where I made a few friends and now I have friends who just happen to blog. I have received such encouragement from my new friends at times when I really need it.
7. I'm thankful for friends who know what I need without me asking. After having the week I had last week and being so concerned with E (she ran a temperature of 104 and passed out at the doctor's office), I'm thankful when friends know when to just call and check on us and/or pray for us.
8. I'm thankful for the girls in my SS class that love me and my family. One of the girls called E last week when she was so sick. I can't tell you what it does for a 5 year old little girl to get an encouraging call from a sophomore in high school. She called to tell E she was praying for her. E's face lit up after that call. I'm so blessed God is allowing me to serve Him in this Sunday School class!

Oh, my goodness, Deidre - I am so sorry to read that your little girl was so sick. I am glad to read that she is doing better now...How sweet that a student of your SS class called her to encourage...
Neat that you are studying Paul's life with a group. I enjoy reading about Paul and how God used him to further the gospel.
I can imagine that you are proud of your brother...I would be too.
Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us this week.
Be blessed today and always.

I'm so glad to hear that your sweetie is better - that is very tiring for mom (no sleep and lots of worries). What a blessing friends can be too!
Your list today ministered to my heart. I guess I just said amen to it all. Thanks for sharing. Have an awesome day.

God is such an awesome healer and he gave you strength to get through it all and care for your family! He is just so good!
God Bless!
Glad to hear your daughter is doing better.
What an awesome list of blessings.
Isn't it something to be thankful for...those people who check up on you and care...and those who care that you have never met...
I just think that is so cool!!
glad the household is on the mend..those days are long...
peace,
lori
What an incredible list. My younger brother isn't serving the Lord so I know the thankfulness of having one who has answered God's call is great!
I have a 6yo little girl and sometimes their words are wise beyong years aren't they?
I'm glad you are feeling better and will remember you in prayer.
If you have the time could you please stop by my place? Today I have a very special prayer request.
God Bless and I hope to have time to visit your blog again. Its very nice.
Wow, what a great list of blessings! You may not want to be a leader, but it's obvious that God has gifted you in the capacity. Have a blessed day!
sURE GLAD TO HEAR THAT THE GIRLS ARE DOING BETTER.
GET SOME MUCH NEEDED REST,
TELL TODD I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR HIM PREACH SOMETIME.
I can very much relate to your list. I have two little ones under the age of three and now that cold whether is here, it seems like one of them is always running at least a little fever. Those high fevers are so scary. I am so glad that your little girl is feeling better.
How cool is it that a teenager at church called to tell her she was praying for her?!?! She will probably remember that for a very long time. Thanks for sharing your list with us!!
Thank you for a wonderful Thankful Thursday. I was very blessed to have visited. God Bless...
