This week 'thankful' list has everything to do with family....**My dad had an accident at work 2 weeks ago. He is still really sore, but thank God he is okay and recovering. God continues to watch over him and protect him.
**I'm thankful for my Mom. I kid around about her calling me many times throughout the day, but the truth is, I would be lost if she didn't.
**I'm thankful for E's heart. She has such a kind heart for a six year old. While cleaning her room this week, I stepped on her bible cover and immediately heard our associate pastor's voice. I looked inside to find a small recorder E sometimes carries in her purse. The recording was our associate pastor giving our congregation prayer requests during a recent service. I had no idea she had taken it to church. I asked her about it later and she told me she wanted to record him giving the prayer requests because she could never remember all of the names to pray for. So sweet!
Also, today I found a plethora of candy in the back pocket of her book bag. I don't know if I've ever looked there before, but I felt something and looked inside. Lots and candy ... skittles, kit kats, gummies. "What is this?" She answers, "That's my kindness candy". She proceeds to tell me she uses that candy to bless someone when they are down or upset. I asked her when was the last time she 'blessed someone' with her candy. She had just done so today. A girl in her class had to flip a card for disobeying. When they were waiting on their parents in the car line, M was sitting with her head down, so E said she chose a Tootsie Roll to give her. She said, "Mama! That put the biggest smile on her face and that made me SO happy!"
I can't get over the fact she has gone to our pantry to get candy, then put it in a secret part of her book bag to use as acts of kindness. Unbelievable!
Also, I found this on my bed this afternoon...
Ah, that girl. I love her to pieces.
**I'm thankful for my husband. I want to write more about him later, but God is showing me how very fortunate I am to not only have such a considerate husband for me, but to have a compassionate and loving daddy to my children. I am so blessed.
**I'm thankful at the end of the day O wants to kiss and hug me and snuggle with me. She isn't affectionate at all and often refuses my attempts to hug her during the day. But, at the end of the day - just before bedtime, she is very affectionate and cries for me. I need that!

May God always sweetly bless your family.
Glad your Dad was okay! I don't think I could live without talking to my Mom every day.
I am glad that you dad is okay - thankfully just some soreness.
Oh, your little "E" is just so precious. How sweet that does random acts of kindness - even though it meant she got come candy from you. And the prayer - how awesome that she wants to remember the names.
Yeah - those hugs and kisses from our little ones are so precious.
