Zits and a survey - God is working

So, I mentioned earlier how I'm planning for my SS lesson on Sunday. God has been using my time with my girls to speak to me about purity, modesty and virtue.

One prayer request I had at the beginning of the week was for God to help me to think like the girls in our class (or help me to remember what it was like).

I kid you not, I woke this morning with THREE zits on my face.

Me and the girls - we are ONE.

Weird, huh?

God is serious about this lesson.

This afternoon, I found myself on the college campus here in town. E's piano teacher decided to move her lessons there. While E was in her lesson, O and I walked around campus. I took along some balls so O could pass the time running around and playing. I took my journal with me, of course because why would you EVER be without one?

A class or two was letting out which sent a group of college kids our way. About 8 of the girls stopped when they saw O. They were fascinated by her and started playing.

Which opened the door for a little survey...... :)

See, God is so cool!

I started asking them questions about dating and what their own particular standards were. Were any of them based on their beliefs .... like were they a Christian? How do they feel about dressing modestly (all were dressed modest, by the way)? Were any of them involved in a regular bible study? What about friendships .... what kind of criteria made a good friend?

I collected so much information. I'm so thrilled with my 'study'. I think they were so willing to talk to me because I was a stranger. That observation is a little disturbing, but I'm sure it's true. They were very honest. Even with the hard questions.

God is so awesome!

Now, I'm off to use my Clearisil and call my boyfriend (I mean, my hubby :)

Oh, Deidre! I am so behind! I love your new look!!

I'd love to hear the results of your "study."

Hope all is well.

And, don't worry, maybe we will be able to convert O. back to a tarheel next bball season - especially if Tyler Hansbrough decides to stick around for his senior year!!

Lots of love!

Hey Deidre! Thank you so much for visiting my blog. I'm so glad you stopped by!
I really enjoyed 'Stepping Up' as well and I think it is right up there with 'The Patriarch's' on my list. Have you done that one?

Funny that you hit a stage in life when your hormones go nuts again and so does your skin. I've finally noticed, at 52, that they are rare, but come on, 45 years of them seems a bit unfair!

Diedre - I think it's neat that you teach teenage girl SS. I have been thinking about that a lot lately. Right now I teach 4 year olds and although I love it ......I feel like God may be calling me to teach high school. We'll see. Anyway - I'm glad you are teaching them about purity. SO important. That is such a huge issue on my heart for girls.
