It has been SO long since I've participated in Thankful Thursday. I have so much to be thankful for, so I thought this post would be the perfect place to tell a few of those things. Today's TT is all about Joy and here are a few things that bring me just that....
** fall. Isn't this the most beautiful time of year? I love it! I love everything about it from the smells, to the colors to the cooler weather. Leaves are just beginning to turn around here. Directly in front of our new house is a mountain. When we moved in, I said I couldn't wait until the leaves turned. I know it will be a beautiful sight! I just hope the leaves don't show off while we're away next week - hang on a little longer! I don't want to miss it.
** our new yard. At our old house, I had to be outside every second when my girls were playing. We lived in a neighborhood, but I couldn't see them from any window of our house and there was lots of traffic driving by. In this house, if I can't be outside, I can see the girls playing in the backyard from our kitchen windows. This has given them LOTS of freedom and playtime outside which they love.
**our upcoming family vacation! We leave Saturday for Disney. I am more excited about spending time with Eric and the girls than where we are going. I don't care if we stay at the hotel and swim - I just want to spend some quality time with them.
** my church. I spoke with a lady yesterday that is in the middle of a church-split. I know how heartbreaking that can be (having experienced that myself as a new Christian). She said she didn't know the last time she had heard a sermon preached directly from God's Word and not just an opportunity for a pastor to give his agenda. Her comment made me so thankful for the church I attend. I know every Sunday and Wednesday, my family and I are going to hear from the Lord through our pastor. He's careful to preach directly from the Word. Thank you, Lord!
** my friends. God has given me some amazing, godly friends to confide in, cry with, vent to and pray with. I'm thankful for each and every one he has put in my life - all different, but important just the same.
