Rejoicing in His Word

Because I just believe God is so purposeful in His timing and His desire to comfort me, I was not at all surprised when I read THIS today. We Moms are never alone and if we serve our families inside our homes or outside our homes, both are equally important and challenging.

Thank you for your comments on yesterday's post. I was never discouraged or down when I wrote that. Maybe a few years ago, I would have let such remarks upset me, but not anymore. God has given me undeniable strength in this area and al though I get a little aggravated at times, I know where my priorities are and I'm okay.

Also, reading that post of Sally Clarkson's marks the fourth time this week I have seen the verse - Jeremiah 15:16 quoted. I don't recall ever reading the verse before, so seeing it come across my radar four times in four days in completely different ways has certainly gotten my attention. (I love when God does that, don't you?) I have seen it quoted in 4 different bible translations as well and all are good. Here's the King James version:

"Thy words were FOUND,
and I did eat them;
and thy Word was unto me
the JOY and REJOICING
of mine heart;
for I am called by thy name,
O Lord God of hosts."
Jeremiah 15:16

Sums up how I'm feeling these days ... finding JOY and REJOICING in His Word (no other place to look for it, really) and I am encouraged.

I read Sally's post the other day and so loved it. Do you know that I have also seen that verse several different times, in fact I had it wrote down on a card laying on my desk so I could see it. It's on my to learn list.

Also what to share this with you. I pass a church (really several church) on the way to and from work each day. The last church I pass is right before you enter our complex. The church puts up different verse ever so offen. Would you like to guess what verse is up there now. John 1:10 "And the word was made flesh , and dwelt among us"....guess need to learn that one also. Ain't that just like GOD.

Love ya

I am so happy that you came to visit my blog. I love this verse. I need to read my bible more. I go to church every sunday and pray, but I need to stop and take a breath, open my bible, and take a moment to see what the Lord has to say to me. I know that if I would just take a few minutes he would fill me with exactly what I need for that day.

I read your blog below (the cynical one). I'm a stay at home mom and I have to tell you, I'm there. I know a few people that I don't even talk about my day to day stuff with them because I don't like the way they act about it. I think this is why I like blogging so much because it is kind of my little space where I can be me and find others that share these same things with me. Thanks!

Hmmm...so good. This is my "thing" for 2009. To dig into the word, even beyond my usual quiet time.

That is where its at!

This is actually the second time TODAY that I have seen this verse. The first time I saw it, I thought that it might should be on my 2009 scripture memorization list that I am doing with LPM. Now that God has put it before me again, I have no doubt that it should be. I love the King James Version, too.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Have a great week!
