You won't find any of this interesting ....

Lately, I have found it so difficult to post. Not sure why. Just having a hard time putting thoughts together. Certainly not because there isn't plenty going on around here. I admit there are times I wonder why on earth I have this blog. I love reading other blogs and I have my favorites that I check each morning to see if there is an update. But, as far as this blog goes, I'm having a hard time. I even thought last week of just deleting the whole thing. Crazy, huh? But, then I remember why I started it in the first place and that was to journal stories about my children and that reminder is what keeps me from hitting 'delete'. We'll see ....

So, here's a quick update of life around here in the past week ....

1) O (3 years old) had to get glasses! This, too, is a great story about God's providence that I may share later (I don't know why I'm still in shock over how He protects my family and me), but I will just say today that she is so cute! She's sitting at my feet right now with a stack of books. A large stack of at least 20. It seems her whole world just got a lot clearer and she is having the best time discovering things for the first time. It's truly amazing to watch. I watched her yesterday (after only having her glasses for a few hours) sit and study her sister's face. That brought me to tears.

2) We just finished our sixth week of bible study and only have 3 more to go. I'm already sad about it ending because I'm dramatic and I have to anticipate the ending for 3 weeks because that's how I roll. Seriously, this study (Esther) has been one of my favorites of all time .... sometimes challenging, a lot of times convicting and always uplifting. I love it.

3) Valentine's day was fun. The girls had their class parties. On Friday night, we took them to see the movie Bolt (so cute!) and then they camped out on our bedroom floor for the night. Saturday morning, I made homemade waffles with whip cream and sprinkles served on 'fancy dishes' by candlelight. The girls loved this! Eric and I were able to go to a movie Saturday night while his parents stayed with the girls. He bought me a dozen pink roses that are gorgeous.

4) Both girls have started back to gymnastics. This is O's first time, but E has taken before. I took her out for a year because of moving, piano, etc. She is doing really well and picking up where she left off, but she doesn't remember some of the techniques. I think the teacher she had last week recognized her and didn't realize it had been a year since E was there. Because of that, the teacher didn't explain a certain technique and not wanting to act like she didn't know, E got hurt. Nothing serious, but presented a perfect teaching moment. We had a talk about 'pride' and when we don't humble ourselves and ask for help, we get hurt in the end. Man, if only I could learn that myself.

5) I have a terrible case of winter blues. Yuck! Last week, we had a few warm, sunny days and I spent every second I could outside with the girls - at the park, in the backyard, walking around the neighborhood. I can't tell you what it did for me! Spring needs to come soon! Oh, please Lord let it come soon!

That's it for now. Gotta go read books to my sweet girl.

Ofcourse I am going to tell you to NEVER stop blogging. I for one enjoy reading about your children, but also when you post about lessons the Lord is teaching you, well that teaches me. I understand the winter blues and maybe that is why you aren't posting as much. Either way, please don't stop!

I've been wondering where you've been... it seems alot of people are in a blogging-funk!

We gotta see a picture of the new glasses - how cute that she's ready to read the world now!!!!

And I know you're sad about Ester coming to an end... but I bet you can probably go through it again & learn & find things you didnt in the first round... or even better, God's going to surprise you with even more in depth study somewhere else... cant wait to see what you dig into next!

Glad to see you came back! I think there are a lot of us wondering what to post. Sometimes blogging can feed our self-importance, if we're not careful. I find I struggle with that.

I do enjoy reading about what God is teaching you, though!

I agree -- we'd be missing you if you stopped blogging.
I would love to see O's picture with her glasses.... I bet she is adorable.
How did you know she needed them?

See? I love how you use every situation in your life for a teachable moment.

You know we would love to see pics of your baby with glasses. I know she is adorable. I am curious how you knew she would need them so young.

I think alot of us have the winter blues. Come on spring!

I felt that exact way regarding the blog. For me, it was because there were heavy things on my heart that I didn't have the time to sit down and write them out well...turned out I didn't need to write them for all to see anyway.

I've turned around though and I am not longer thinking about pulling the cord.

I am with you on the weather. Last week was divine, but it almost made this last few weeks of winter that much harder.

I am READY for sandals and capris...and cold drinks!

Hang in there! And don't quit blogging, I so enjoy reading yours!

I wrote almost the same thing about quitting the blog the other day! I guess the blog funk is going around!
Looking forward to Saturday!

Oh my stars don't stop blogging!! I love to read your blog -- you and your family are so cute!!!

I had to get glasses when I was really young. My mom says I was like 4 or 5. I remember how clear things got. I didn't know I wasn't seeing good until I could see good... hmmmm that lesson will teach... anyway...

Waffles by candlelight, what a GREAT idea.

Hope you have a wonderful evening,
Dawn

I know just how you feel about not being sure about continuing blogging or not. I've also been finding it hard to post. I haven't even managed to write my baby's one-year post and her birthday was over two weeks ago!

For the record, I think you should continue blogging. I love reading your posts!

I'm also studying Esther. I love it. Did you do the Daniel study?

Finally, is there anything cuter than a small child in classes? So cute!

I need to see a picture of that sweet O in her glasses ASAP!

Looking forward to Saturday!

Blues with too much to Do's !
Both my children had to have glasses and mine where much older also. Jon was 7 and I cried when he had to get his (he has beautiful eyes with long eyelashes, couldn't have mail ordered them any better, lol)and Taylor was like 4th grade. I can remember the first time she "realized" that there was a difference in a "brick" house and one with siding ! It made me realize just how bad her eyes were and look how "long" I'd let that go,,,beat myself up about it for a LONG while ! It opens up their world I'm so glad you can be there with her to experience everything!
I personally think Esther is the best teaching Beth has done, I am sad its about to end too! Can't hardly believe it! All writer's get that block sometimes, it'll come back around! ttyl.......

Hush that talk of deleting this blog! That's crazy talk!!! I totally get the what do I write and that convicts me to think that I am writing for others and I remind myself, like you did, that this is for my children and to chronicle our lives.
Bring on the spring!!

I'm with you- ready for spring time and sunshine. I hope you will continue sharing your blog, I truly enjoy your stories of your family and faith. It's encouraging to read how other mommies share so many of the same feelings and stages. (I laughed at your description of grieving the end of a study for the few weeks prior to its completion, I am so there with you! Loving this Esther study as well, and glad I'm only on week 3!)

I love your blog!!! I am also so ready for Spring I can't stand it! I was pumping gas today, freezing, telling God...."Bring on Spring, Bring on Spring!!!"

I am sharing your difficulty in posting right now. I have had a hard time recently getting my thoughts down, also.

We are on the same week in our Esther class and you are right --it has been incredible! I think that is part of the reason I have not had a lot of time to post because working full-time and 5 nights of homework keeps one quite busy!

I can only imagine how cute O must be with her glasses! Both of my girls wore glasses from an early age. Can't wait to see a picture of her with her new glasses.

Have a blessed Sunday!

Deidre,
It was soooo good to meet you yesterday!! I just had so much fun...and you are honestly one of the most beautiful people I think I've ever met!! I just can't wait to live near you and visit your church!! I told the girls when we left yesterday, once I move, we can all still meet and you and I will get to ride together!! And now...you're one of the privileged few to know the story of the "gold urn". :)
Hope you have a great week!

I have had a hard time posting recently too. I just have so many other things going on right now, that it is hard to find the time to sit down and get my thoughts together to post. Plus, I am so technologically challenged that it takes me a while to do a post too. I love reading about your girls and your family adventures. I am also studying Esther right now too and it is awesome!! One of Beth's best studies. Have a wonderful week. Love & blessings from NC!

I'm sorry you had such a crazy weekend, but despite your scare with your Dad, it sounds like you had a fun weekend with your girls and your blog friends. Hubby came to the rescue! What a sweet guy. Hang in there with your blogging. Love & blessings in NC!
