We are slowly recovering from our holiday/birthday bash this weekend. We had a great time celebrating O's birthday along with the 4th of July at my parent's pool. We played volleyball in the pool, baseball in the backyard and more volleyball ... along with eating, fireworks and more eating.
Sunday and Monday I felt like I was in a comatose state. Exhausted and recovering with yet more eating and lying around. Ahhh ... summer.
O had a fabulous birthday and I have a post coming soon about my sweet four year old and the year she's had, but until then I'll just include some pictures from our weekend.
We spent Friday at my absolute favorite place in the mountains. The city had a clown on the street making balloons for the children. E asked for a butterfly hat and O .... well, what 4 year old girl wouldn't ask for a sword, hat and shield? Completely normal.
O's 'big gift' was a B*rbie Jeep. This picture captures how she drives ... in a circle, turning right while looking at the ground. Stresses me out!
I like this picture because of the obvious .... my two girls .... but, also because look at the classic H*nda Civic driving by in the background. Reminds me of my high school boyfriend picking me up for our first car date. I thought he was so cool in this car .... ha!
My brother, John Patrick (uncle JP to the girls) is getting a makeover ... complete with O's glasses. Doesn't he look thrilled?

And, here's my big brother during our fierce pool volleyball game.

Both brothers are still extremely ugly to me with the smack talk during any kind of competitive sports. I'm not sure I'll ever fully recover from all the insults and ugliness. It's tough being the only girl and the middle child. I'm sure I'll need counseling the rest of my life. Pray for them.

You know... I have some cute pictures from Thursday- maybe once I'm actually settled in my house- I'll send them to you. Loved the pictures that you posted- the civic brought back strong memories for me too- looked A LOT like my accord- don't ya think?? Can't wait to come back and see you guys again soon!! Love ya!
So fun! Looks like a fun weekend.
I wanted to tell you two things:
1. My kids have an Uncle JP. My brother's name is John Paul, and everyone but my mother calls him JP. My mom doesn't like nicknames. She has never once called me Mer.
2. One of my good friends had a Honda Civic like that. Lots of memories cruisin' in that car!
Hope you're having a few more of those lazy summer days you mentioned!
Love the pictures and you are so funny! Happy Birthday, again to O
