Oh, wait ... I could say that Eric was on a mission trip last week and I did what I fear most of myself while he's away - I shut down completely mentally. I had big plans to entertain my kids with grand plans of fun, but at the end of the week I had failed us all miserably. I missed him so much I'm almost too ashamed to admit it.
I'm suppose to be stronger than that.
I think the main reason I reacted in such a way is that up until the last minute, we were suppose to go along with him. So, everyday I kept expecting a call inviting me to come ... but, it never came and I was seriously bummed.
I do have a post partially written about O turning four, but even finishing that gets me choked up ... so I wait. I have tried my best to talk Eric into keeping her home this school year instead of sending her to pre-kindergarten every.single.day. He keeps telling me she's ready and I'm the only one that isn't, but I'm not buying it. I cannot even think about being away from her every day starting ... next month! Yikes! Can't take it. She's too little.
She's little .... with some grown-up ideas, though.
She and a boy at church (K) have announced they are getting married. Cracks me up! I wish I could've had a video of their conversation Sunday night at church. It went something like this ....
O: "K is my boyfriend. We're getting married!"
K: "O, we have to wait until I'm thirteen."
K's Mom: "No, I said you have to wait until you're thirty!"
K: "Okay, we have to be twenty-four."
(negotiating already)
Me: "O, where will you live if you get married?"
O: "With K. I'm marrying him!"
K: "O, when we get married, we have to have a big, brick house!"
O: "Why?"
K: "So the wolf can't blow it down. There are lots of wolves in the woods!"
You can never start planning too early. What I wouldn't give to show a video of that conversation at either 1) her high school graduation when she finds K repulsive or 2) at O and K's rehearsal dinner.
Either way .... hilarious!

that is just too cute... I always love the things that come out of your girls mouths!
I love "we have to wait until I'm 13"... because as you know - at 13, you ARE grown up! :)
You if's funny that at a very young age both your girls announce that they are getting married. I remember E to has made her wedding plans with M. So you have nothing to worry about. You I just love those 2 girls can not believe O is starting pre-kindergarten. Oh and I love you and Eric also
I have re-played that conversation over & over this week. They are sooo funny, yet so serious!! I love it!! We definitely need to video!!
Love ya!!
