Day 3: My friend

Well, I didn't know yesterday when I was posting about being thankful what an hour would bring! I wrote about purposing in my heart to look for the good every day this month.

Today will be more difficult than I thought, but I will do it!

Today I am thankful for my friend, Pam. I need to write a post to do our friendship justice, and I will. But, today I'm sad because yesterday she passed away unexpectedly.

I miss her.

I'm sad.

But, I'm thankful for the time I had with her. She is the friend that made me fall head over heels in love with God's Word. She is the one that challenged me and talked to me for endless hours about Scripture. She pushed me, she loved me well and she was an amazing encourager to me.

I am heartbroken.

But thankful.

Pam's favorite verses ....

Thou art my hiding place;
thou shalt preserve me from trouble;
thou shalt compass me about
with songs of deliverance. Selah.
Psalm 32:7
Thou art my hiding place
and my shield:
I hope in thy word.
Psalm 119:114
I miss you, sweet Pam!

My sweet precious daughter,
God so blessed you with a sweet friend as he did us all who knew her. I also will miss the sweetest person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. My heart aches for you. I love you.

I can't imagine being without my best friend who is always encouraging me to love God with all my heart, mind, soul and strength. I pray the memory of the times she taught you and encouraged you will live forever in your heart. Praying for your broken heart to rejoice in knowing she is with her Lord and Savior.

Dear Deidre,

I read about the loss of your friend on the LPM blog. I didn't know how else to reach you.

Please come to the conference. You will be surrounded by fellow siestas who love the Lord.

I am driving to the conference and meeting a friend I met at the Breaking Free taping in New Orleans. She is traveling from Dallas with her best friend.

When I read your post, my heart filled with the urging to contact you. Not only to urge you to come, but to invite you to join us.

If you feel moved to reply, my e-mail is ecolligan@bellsouth.net

Whether or not I hear from you, I have added your broken heart to my prayer list.

Like several others, I saw you post on the LPM Blog. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Please consider coming to the event in Houston in January. What a tribute it could be to your friend who encouraged you to really get in to God's word.

Lifting you up in prayer.

I am so very sorry about the loss of your friend. Nothing I say can will mend your broken heart, but do know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. It looks like so many other sweet sisters in Christ are praying for you too through the LPM blog. I hope you will go to the conference in Houston and be uplifted by all the sweet ladies who will be there. Your friend will be there in spirit! God will be with you to guide you through this time of grieving. And remember, shed those tears...they provide lots of healing and God counts EVERY one of them. Love & blessings from NC!

I wanted to share this with you, I read your post about you losing your friend a while back. Not long after I heard "Wayman's Song" by Toby Keith-and it made me think of you, if you get a chance listen to it! I have not lost anyone that close to me but thought this song would help! Take Care:)
