Today is my day off. I planned to pick out paint for our bonus room and powder room, visit the library by myself and stop in for some chicken minis and sweet tea.
BUT .... as O was finishing breakfast, she started to cry (uh oh - not even 7:00 yet) and held up her blankey. The back is almost in shreds. The beloved blankey that has been repaired so many times already.
"I'm so worried about it", she said, "She looks really bad, Mommy". (Yes, her blankey is a she.)
So, I made some calls this morning. Looks like my morning will instead be spent looking for just the right fabric and taking it to get sewn again. And praying it's back in our possession before bedtime!
Good thing I had the day off, huh?
Ironically, I took these pictures of her just yesterday when she got home from school. I even made the statement we needed to get some good pictures of her with her blankey before it falls apart. I may need to act quickly :)

Moms never get much time for themselves. Even at my age plans never work out..ha! In the end though time spent on your child is much more rewarding! Enjoy your day!
What a good mommy you are to put off your plans to take care of this blanket... I'm sure it'll be worth it though when bed time is peaceful tonight ;)
We all know about sharing our blanket dont we Deidre sometimes it is with a seamstress or someone else at camp ha ha
Aw, my 8 year old still has her security object. It's a stuffed lamb and HIS name is lamby.:) He's been repaired many a times too. I keep thinking maybe this will be the year she gives up sleeping with 'lamby.' Hasn't happened yet though. ha!
What a great mom you are to change your plans to save the beloved blankie.:) She's too cute in those pictures!
