The Happy Dance

Happy Friday, Everybody!

This morning looked a whole lot different in our house compared to the rest of the week.  We're doing the happy dance because Eric is coming home today!!!

He's been gone since Sunday night (Yes, toooooo looooong!) and as much as I tried to make it different, the week pretty much stunk.

We've known for awhile this week was coming, so we prepared ourselves as much as we could.  However, on Monday night, I got the mother of all migraines (I seriously think it was one of the worst I've ever had), so it all just went down hill from there.

It's hard to recover quickly from a migraine that big since it pretty much lingers for days but my attitude reflected it and I hated that so much.

Throw in homework, baths, sisters fighting, extra projects, a tornado scare, kids that expect to be fed 3 meals a day (the nerve :) and well,  it all seems like a fog.

There were some good things, though.

We celebrated my Mom's birthday Monday.  I don't have any pictures because that's when I was getting a migraine, but it was good to see everyone together.  I love you, Mom!

Eric did the sweetest thing.  He left a stack of letters for each one of us - one for every day that he was gone.  We were to open them first thing each morning.

The girls and I really looked forward to this. Such a sweet gesture.

I was able to have lunch with a friend yesterday.  We used to meet weekly, but our schedules got crazy around the holidays.  With the week I had, I enjoyed speaking to an adult :) Oh, and laugh! Yet, at my expense.  Let me explain ... Olivia has a friend that has a sibling.  I have called this sibling 'he' for 3 years.  THREE YEARS! I found out this week that 'he' is actually a 'she'.  Olivia is the one that corrected me.

I'm telling you I broke out in a sweat.  I haven't simply thought it was a boy in my mind.  But, I've actually had conversations like "I just love him", "He is so cute!", "Here, let me help you with him" and "How well is he sleeping at night?"

Ugh! I'm an idiot!

When Olivia corrected me, I knew right off 'her' mother and I probably weren't as good of friends as I thought we were.  Killed me. haha

The friend I had lunch with knows all involved and she seriously laughed 'til I thought she would choke.

Unbelievable.  Only me.

Let's see .... what else was good this week?

Oh, the girls and I cheated and went out for dinner last night.  (I say 'cheated' because I didn't cook :) We went to Atl*nta Bread Company because I have recently become obsessed with the Caramel Macchiato.

Listen, I do NOT like coffee.  I'm just now getting to where I'll have a drink at Starbucks but only because I have found something I like that hides all the coffee taste.  I have to write it down so I remember what to order (Tall, decaf, non-fat, pumpkin spice latte, whipped cream, a squirt of caramel, one splenda).  Whew.  Anyway, it tastes great, but if one of those things is missing, it's yuck.

For some reason, I was feeling enthusiastic about trying something new at dinner a few weeks ago at Atlanta Bread and I chose a Caramel Macchiato.

Glory.  It was good.  And Eric was excited for me.  He wants so badly for me to like coffee.  We sent him a text with this picture last night .....

He sent me a text back that said "glad you found something to make you smile".

Ouch.  I guess it's no secret the grouch I've been this week.

But now I can see the light! He's coming home! Yippeeeeeee!
