Some Resolve

I have a confession.

I have been in a bad mood.

(I know some friends that are nodding their heads in agreement.)

I feel there are some very good reasons for my mood, not the least of which is the fact I had a small breakdown after our cruise.

I'll spare everyone the details of what I call my 'crazy' period (except for those few friends nodding their heads in agreement - they got the full detailed story - you're welcome, friends), but let's just say I haven't been myself.  Add in a few discouraging things that happened and I was fighting the urge to pack up everything and move to a different state.

Yet here I sit.  I made it.  I'm better.  And I'm happy :)

In other words, I needed our holiday break in the worst way.

I needed some time where no one outside of my home was depending on me.  Some time when my toughest decision was what cookie I would eat for breakfast and what pajamas I would wear all day.

It was bliss.

We did do some really fun things.  We had my nieces over to spend the night.  The next day, we added two more girls.  Seven girls in the house!

The only right thing to do when there are seven girls in the house is to make sweets :)

Regular brownies wouldn't do.  My niece, Taylor, kicked it up a notch and added M&Ms and chocolate chips.

And top it off with hot chocolate :)

We had a Wii Just Dance competition.

Actually, I think they were just going to play, but I am a tad competitive so I kicked that up a notch .... drawing for positions and making formal brackets.

Yes, I lost the first round.  What?

We should've had a cheerleading competition.  They can't touch this ...

Haha!

So, a New Year and a clean slate.  An opportunity to resolve to do things different ... better.  An opportunity to be intentional about enjoying one another and pouring into relationships that matter. 

The cure for a bad mood :)
