** We went to a wedding on New Year's Eve in Blowing Rock. B E A U T I F U L. Back story: There is a lady in our church that is overly gracious to all the children. She's also Emma's Sunday School teacher this year. We are fortunate that she sits on our same pew and Olivia has sat with her since she was old enough to sit up on her own. Mrs. Jeannie brings a bag full of activities for her every Sunday. She is SO kind to our family. Her daughter got married Saturday and we were honored to be invited.
It was a small wedding in the most beautiful old house that is actually a spa. This spa. These ladies played hymns on violin and the music was wonderful!
At the last minute, my girls stood as flower girls.
Well, Olivia basically walked the aisle and straight to her Daddy's lap because she can't be bothered with people looking at her. Emma, however, is always up for a little production :)
My girls with Mrs. Jeannie. We love her!
** Emma auditioned for our local college's Youth Choir ... and made it! She was SO nervous auditioning but did great. I am SO proud of her!
** But maybe even more proud that she actually requested and ate her first livermush-on-a-bun-with-slaw-and-mustard sandwich.
Oh, I kid. I'm more proud of the audition :)
** God answered a huge prayer for me this week concerning the SSMT Celebration in Houston in a few weeks. I'm really looking forward to it (especially now!).
** My girls are fighting a little less since school started back. Fighting may not be an accurate word. You can just always tell when they're tired of one another and make smart comments when the other one speaks. One particular conversation made me laugh, though. I was making toasted cheese sandwiches for Emma and her friend when Emma said, "You'll love this toasted cheese sandwich. Actually we invented the toasted cheese sandwich". Olivia looked at her, rolled her eyes and said in her most disgusted, dramatic voice "Emma! You have no idea what you're talking about! Everybody knows Thomas Edison invented the toasted cheese sandwich!"
Ha! I usually just stay quiet :) I mean I don't want to argue with everybody.
