Projects and Recitals

Because God loves us, we have a day off from school tomorrow :)

It's our last teacher workday before the school year ends.

Our attitudes are already different tonight knowing we don't have to head to school in the morning.  Anyone else SO ready for summer?

I would say it can't come soon enough, but I also know that several BIG THINGS are happening in our family right after school ends, and well, I CAN wait for those things so I'm trying to just enjoy the next few weeks .... slowly.

The best thing that has happened over the past week is we have both girls' major school projects behind us.  Emma turns hers in Tuesday, but atleast it is finished.  I think the 'fun' she was having doing it left her on Saturday since it took her most of the day to finish.

Olivia had her Geography Fair on Friday.  My Daddy stopped by to ask her all she knew about California.

She had to stand there for 2 hours and explain it to all the classes.
She was super-proud of it, though.
She also said she was so sad the Geography Fair was over.  She may be the only one :)

Then, tonight Emma had a pre-recital for the local college's Youth Choir that she's in.  This was very unusual because it was in a church here that is over 200 years old.  A very small church!!

Small ... with no electricity (read no air conditioning :)

 We didn't mind, though.
This was the first time we heard her sing with the Choir so we weren't sure what to expect.
It was beautiful!

This Youth Choir has been such a positive experience for Emma.  Makes the practices so worth it :)
Now to enjoy that day off ....

Is this a bad time to tell you that our last day of school was Friday?
I love that church! My cousin got married there years ago.
Have a great day with your girls tomorrow! Hope to see you soon!

Olivia did a very nice job on her diorama. I love how the tree is going through the top!

That old church is cool! Wow, I love how the old buildings are preserved and still used in the east. Out west here, not so much. There's a couple of ghost towns here and there, but nothing like back east.

Enjoy your day off!
