If You Give A Pig A Pancake ...

Have you read that book? One thing leads to another and you wonder how you got so far from what you started with?

We can relate.

Two weeks ago, I asked Eric if he would help me rearrange our bedroom furniture.

"Sure.  No problem."

That led to changing the paint color - something we've wanted to do for awhile.  It was a dark chocolate brown before ....
We (actually, Eric) painted it Twilight Gray.

If you've ever painted anything gray, you know that it tends to take on a blue hue.  I was so worried Eric would think our walls were Carolina Blue (something he wouldn't tolerate!).  So, I'm keeping my mouth shut about it but doing all I can to make it look gray which means (for the time being), I can't use my blue, white and cream duvet cover (not the one shown above).

Not really planning all this in advance, I bought a white quilt at TJMaxx with 3 gray euro-pillows (love!) to help with the color.  As of now, it all looks a little hospitalesque (I just made up that word, but it fits).

The white quilt suddenly nixed my cream window treatments.  Plus, I'm on a hunt for CHEAP accessories to bring in some color.

Rearranging the bedroom may have gotten a little out of hand.

Perhaps the biggest issue ...... when Eric was moving the bed to it's new space, the bed rails cracked and split.  We thought it would be just fine until he went to get in the bed that night and CRACK .... no more bed rail.

So, just like everything we do, it isn't as simple as we thought.  Our mattresses are resting on the floor ....
...while my footboard is resting across the room against the wall.

Waiting.

Before we went to sleep last night, I asked Eric if we could get them fixed before it's time to change the paint color again.

Fingers crossed.

We've something in common. Ken and I are sleeping on the floor as of right now, too.
We are looking to buy a bed. MAN, they are expensive.

Hope we can get together soon.
When do your girls start school? Mine start Aug. 7!!

Try yellow, gray and white with some black. Do a search on Pintrest, the new color!

I am just now catching up on some of your old posts. Congratulations to Eric for running The Bear! Wow. That looked INTENSE! And to you and Emma, too, for the 5K!! I admire you for being so dedicated to running.

You will have to show us your room when it's all done and finished. I bet it's going to look so pretty. :)

How is boot camp going for the girls? They are such sweetie pies, I know they are doing great.

Glad you are having a good summer!!
