Pizza Rolls and Reading

I think we remind ourselves at least once a day how much we love summer and don't want to head back to school.  We're enjoying our time off so much.

Emma and Olivia love to cook.  They were in charge of dinner one night this week and made a recipe we saw on Pinterest for Pizza Rolls.

Just roll out crescent rolls, add a spoonful of pizza sauce and a section of a mozzarella cheese stick and bake.

Thankfully, they were delicious (which I can't say about most recipes we've found on Pinterest.  Can you?)

Anyway, it was something fun for the girls to do and a way they could feel like they were contributing.

The girls have also been finishing their summer reading requirement for school.  I make encourage them to read at least 30 minutes a day anyway, so I just nudged them to go ahead a read a book on the school's list instead of waiting until the last minute.

I love to catch Olivia reading.  She makes a cocoon of pillows to snuggle up in ...

And I love how Emma doesn't shy away from new or challenging vocabulary.  She simply chooses a book and brings along a dictionary to help her through.

We are loving our full, yet restful days! We can't even imagine being ready for school to start.  I'm praying God changes our hearts about that when the time comes.

Which is in a little over a month .... yikes!

Its why I love my Kindle - you come across a word you dont know & just tap it & it brings up the dictionary meaning... I'm too lazy to be like Olivia & look up the word otherwise!

This post was so restful to read. Thank you for the reminders of simple blessings in the day.
