Absolutely nothing fancy, but I have found when I present something in a new way, they are thrilled.
And, truthfully, just the sight of powdered donuts is enough for them to think I am beyond cool :)
I wanted to talk with them about the New Year, resolutions and what all God has done for us in 2012. Eric already shared a devotion with us the day before, but I wanted them to spend some time filling out a review for 2012 so I would have something to keep.
They got to work quickly on their sheets.
Most of their answers were predictable to me. Yet, there were a few that took me by surprise.
What is Olivia looking forward to most in 2013?
JP coming home every month. Which of course, he is not, but I didn't push the issue with her. Doesn't hurt to dream, right?
Her hardest thing of the year: Allergy shots. Yes, those were tough on her. She still doesn't like them.
Emma's answers always amaze me.
Hardest thing of the year: Anxiety. But, I love that her greatest lesson learned was how to deal with anxiety. God has taught us so much and we are better for it!
What does Emma want to get better at in 2013? Walking with God without stumbling.
Same here, Emma. Let it be so!

Ok so WOW and WOW!! Your girls are so sweet and I love that you did this with them. Did you do one for yourself? I love this idea. Where might I find this form?
Blessings and love to you dear Deirdre.
I'm so looking forward to reading your first SSMT!

Such a cute idea! You're going to need to do this for the next 6-8 years until my boys get old enough to do it. (or else, I'll forget ;)
Awesome!
What a fun breakfast idea! LOVE the 2012 survey and your girls' answers. I printed out the same one and will admit-my kids haven't filled it out yet... :0
Diedre...
I have often read your blog and just stopped by to get "caught up"...this brought tears to my eyes. What sweet honesty and sincerity your daughters share with you. Such vulnerability with their mama...thank you for sharing this! Loved it!
