Joined at the Hip (or Toothbrush)

It has been sleeting here since 8:00 this morning.  My girls went to school, but then were dismissed at 9:45.  So, now 3/4 of us are safely at home and I'm told the other 1/4 will be home by noon.  Yay!

I love it when we're all here together ~ and even more so when we can't get out because of bad weather.  I have 15-bean soup cooking in the crockpot, sweet cornbread just came out of the oven and the brownies are baking as I type.  We're settling in for a winter storm.

Well, a NC storm, anyway.

Which would make my northern friends laugh hysterically.

Not much has been going on here this week.  Olivia is feeling much better and was back at school by Wednesday.  However, she is soooooo attached to me right now, I rarely have a moment to myself unless she's at school.  I chaperoned her class field trip yesterday, took her to gymnastics, sat beside her at dinner and played Go Fish until I couldn't hold my eyes open any longer.

She cried when I left the house Tuesday night, she cries if I go to the grocery store and she tells me repeatedly she's going to miss me while she's asleep.

She doesn't like to leave my side.  She even told me again last night that she wants me to homeschool her for college.  Oh, and that she and her husband are going to live with me forever and they're going to stay in Emma's room.

Sounds great to me!

I'll post one more thing before I take my place on the sofa because it makes me laugh ...

I recently organized our bathroom cabinets.  I put off this job forever! When I finally got around to doing it, I knew I had to do something about our toothbrush situation.  Eric and I were keeping our toothbrushes together and I'll just say one of us keeps a neater space than the other.  So, I was pretty excited about getting my own toothbrush space.  Because a girl has to have some boundaries.

I left Eric's toothbrush in the old spot because if I've learned anything after 16 years of marriage, he doesn't like change when it comes to a morning routine.  So, I took my toothbrush and headed for cleaner pastures.  Or drawers, if you will.

Day one after reorganization:  Eric's toothbrush is in my drawer.

I explained the new organization to Eric and even told him I made it easy for him and kept his toothbrush where it was.  No worries for him.

Day two after reorganization:  Eric's toothbrush is in my drawer.

So, I left his toothbrush a note ....

The next day, I walked into a bathroom that had been cleaned from top to bottom and found the following note in my drawer ...

I guess Olivia isn't the only one with attachment issues.

This one had me laughing so hard that my little sweetie said what is so funny. I said my friend. She is such a hoot. Toothbrushes, Ha Ha. Loved the notes.
As far as being with you so much. I can relate. I hear the same things. Funny we played go fish too, until I said now we are going to do things by ourselves for a little bit. :) Sweetie still comes and talks with me every minute to two minutes.
Love
Kim
