I realize there are plenty of women that have it worse than me and it doesn't faze them at all. I have a deep appreciation for single Moms as well. But, me? I am at peace when he's home. When I don't feel like I have to check the doors 8 times before going to sleep and listen for every sound. I get little to no sleep which makes me so pleasant to be around ;)
Anyway, he comes home today and all will be well again.
The girls and I have gotten into a routine this winter. Because of anxiety and just sitting still at school for 7 hours in general, it becomes crucial to get some exercise. Honestly, we really don't function well without it. I'm always amazed at how grumpy everyone can be on the way to the gym and then walk out laughing after a run. All the proof we need.
I picked the girls up Monday and headed to the Y indoor track (not the best place to run, but the best we can do while it's so cold out). Olivia started running with Emma 3 weeks ago. She usually runs a few laps, takes a break and then starts again .... counting her laps until she's at a mile. She decided to set her own goal of running a mile without stopping and of course, did it the first time she tried.
This past Monday, I heard her telling Emma she was going to try to run a mile and a half without stopping. Emma is so sweet to run with her and encourage her along the way. I noticed they continued going after she reached her goal and they both ended up running two miles without stopping.
Olivia's first time!
She was so proud of herself!! We've created a monster though because she can't wait to do it again. So, we'll head to the gym later today.
Right before Eric walks through the door. And, then all will be right with the world :)

Your girls are so sweet together! I hope my boys have that kind of sweet relationship. I know what you mean about having your husband out of town because mine has been gone since Sunday and comes home tonight! My mother came to help out some for a couple of days (my active boys are 1 and 3 and I needed the help), but even with her here, I've been so completely exhausted. I was thinking the same as you in that I don't know how single moms do it. It's just hard to not have that help and companionship at the end of a long day.
Way to go Olivia! I completely understand about having Eric at home. I am the same way with Michael. I am sleep deprived the nights he is working. I am always looking out the window every time I hear something & walking to check all the doors. We all sleep better when he is home. Have a good weekend!
