What's Better Than A Two-Day Weekend?

.... A FOUR-Day Weekend!

I loved crawling into bed last night knowing the girls were out of school for two more days.  Of course, that never means they seize an opportunity to 'sleep in' though.  They feel it's so much more fun to wake early to play instead of getting ready for school.

We had such a nice weekend!  Eric made it home from Maryland Friday night and us girls were giddy to have him back home with us.

Originally, Eric and I had a date night planned for tonight.  We had a feeling the new soccer season and practices starting would threaten that (we were right, too) so we called his parents and asked if they would watch the girls for the afternoon.  It's a win/win for everyone involved.  The girls love to see their grandparents, Eric's parents love to see the girls and Eric and I LOOOOOOOVED dropping them off so we could have a few hours to ourselves :)

We went out for a yummy lunch at a restaurant we hadn't tried yet.  Then, we headed to the movies because hello!!! Safe Haven was playing!!

I'm a huge Nicholas Sparks fan so I was chomping at the bit to see this.  It was good, y'all.  Really good.

Best of all, I spent some time with Eric.  Let me just say, after 16 years of marriage, we're finally figuring out what all the fuss is about when it comes to date nights.  How nice it is to spend uninterrupted time with each other.  And we're hooked.  We're planning the next one really soon.

While we were on our date, it started snowing!!

It didn't stay around long, but was so beautiful when it was falling.  My in-laws took these pictures of the girls ...
After we picked the girls up, we headed to my parents to have dinner with my entire family. Yay! Everyone was present and accounted for :)

Sunday was crazy, but good.  We had a wonderful service Sunday morning.  Afterwards, we went to watch my niece in her dance recital, then headed back to church to hear my big brother, Todd, preach.  I loooooove to hear him preach and don't get to nearly often enough.  Again, my entire family was there and I'll never be able to describe that feeling.  Peaceful.

Today has already been filled with a bunch of nothing :) Presently, my girls are belting out karoake on the Wii loudly and we just keep talking about how much we love days off from school!!

We randomly chose a winner for Wednesday's giveaway.  Samantha, you won!! Congratulations, you'll love it!! I'll get it to you soon.

Sounds like a great weekend to me!
John and I are HUGE fans of date night (or date afternoon, or even breakfast dates!) The wonderful thing for us is that we've finally arrived at a place in life where we don't need babysitters. I love that we can be spontaneous and leave our kids when we need to get away!
Enjoy your four-day weekend! We're having one too but we go back tomorrow. Already sad about that...
