What started out as a bitter cold morning yesterday turned into a nice, warm afternoon.
My girls had pictures taken at school, which means they get to ditch the usual uniforms.
I didn't get any pictures before school, so instead we
stopped on the way home in the afternoon to take some.
Everyone was in such a good mood and I didn't want to waste the moment.
After a sad, gloomy few days, we learned some exciting news.
The fifth grade play this year is on the story of ESTHER, called Malice in the Palace.
(Of all the stories in the Bible, how cool that ESTHER is the very year Emma is in fifth grade?)

Oh, and guess who auditioned and got the part of ESTHER???
My sweet Emma!
She's only talked about this play and getting this part for two years!
Anytime she mentioned it, I tried to remind her to be thankful for any part she was given
.... and to graciously accept her part, whatever it may be, from her teacher.
When she got in the car and announced she got ESTHER,
the three of us starting screaming, laughing and cheering.
How very like our God to give us such extravagant JOY when we've been so gloomy!
What a fun afternoon celebrating something GOOD.
