I'm loving all the tulips you can buy right now ....
It's been too cold for any to bloom around here, but that doesn't stop me from buying them and bringing them home. I am SO ready for Spring!!
I'm loving how much Olivia likes to cook!
I heard recently that a child should be encouraged to help out in the kitchen while they're little. If we don't allow them to, they won't be interested in 'helping' when they're teenagers.
Olivia would help me with each and every meal. I admit I don't always say 'yes' when she asks to help. It requires patience while I'm more of a 'get in and out of the kitchen quick' kind of cook. But I'm really trying to let her cook more, with me helping less and just hanging around to instruct her along.
Last night, she cut the chicken (using my mini chopper), assembled the chicken pie and even made stewed apples almost completely by herself (I just sliced the apples). She's adding what we always call our secret ingredient when we're baking ... cinnamon. She thought it should be a secret for the apples too :)
She was quick to tell us at dinner if we were enjoying our meal, it was all because of her (humility rarely occurs to her at this stage :)
I'm also loving that I posted this picture on Facebook a few weeks ago with this caption: "Please don't be jealous of our sofa .... or Todd's shirt"
Todd never said much about it, only that he had seen it.
Then, out of the blue he left this comment on Facebook last night ....
- True story! Today, I was meeting with one of our product suppliers along with owners and key mgmt in our company. As the meeting was coming to a close, our supplier says, "I have some blackmail photos of Todd" and pulls out this photo to pass around the room. Needless to say, the war is ON!
I seriously laughed so hard and for so long, my stomach hurt. I just kept imagining my brother sitting in a room full of people, some of which he hardly knows, and as things got serious, this photo was pulled out. H.I.L.A.R.I.O.U.S.
I can't stop laughing about it this morning. Most times, social media bums me out, but this was AWESOME!

Uh-oh! A war with you and Todd that dredges up old memories and photos!! This could get really interesting!
Oh yes, our wee babes should definitely cook with us!!! I always had Dak in the kitchen, and he is a decent cook today, especially buffalo wings. They are his fav!! :). He can also make Kuchen and it is completely ok if you don't know what they is. He learned that one at school, but very delish. We have his recipes in a little file on top of the fridge. I still use them. And Sir Cuteness is all about helping in the kitchen. I think it is so great that you let her cook up a storm.
