It's no secret I've been mourning the coming of this day, maybe more so than any other year of 'first days'. It's hard to say why. Oh, I have my theories, but it is what it is and the day came anyway.
No, there are a lot of things we didn't work into our summer plans, but we had a busy and FUN one .... doing things we didn't expect to.
Yesterday, I needed to iron uniforms and organize a few more things for school, but I left it all to spend the day at the golf course with my girls.
Golf is something I never thought we would be doing together. We had so much fun even though we missed my Daddy being there since he's the one that can actually teach them how to play. Me? I just say things like "Keep your eye on the ball!" and "Take your time". That's the extent of my knowledge.
Olivia got in the golf cart after teeing off on the 8th hole and said "Mom, you tell us we hit a great shot even when it's the worst ever!"
Well, I'm a Mom. That's what I do.
I know my girls are tired of me being a big baby about school starting so I tried to be positive about it yesterday. But, it's a stretch, I tell ya. I am not a fan.
And, seriously, 6th and 3rd grade?
That just can't be right!
I'm praying they have a fantastic year, filled with grace and goodness from the Lord!
I'm praying the same for myself :)
