God's Redeeming Love {Day 21}: Who Is Watching You?

I have enjoyed a few months of downtime.  From October to February, our schedule was more relaxed, affording us time we don't normally have together.  As we ease into March, I feel the winds blowing and it's all about to change.  I'm bracing myself.

I've used this 'downtime' to the best of my ability in terms of shepherding my girls hearts.  No, we didn't have perfect days {is there such a thing}, but we've talked a lot.  We've shared a lot about God and we've been in His Word.  Those things won't change, but it will look differently in the coming months, until another lull in our schedules.

My girls went to Bible Study with me Monday night.  In ten years of leading Bible Study, this was only the second time they've tagged along.  Eric was out of town and instead of getting a sitter, I really wanted them with me.

They sat off to the side, drawing and playing on a friend's phone.  We're studying James, and when the video started, Olivia sat on my lap and drew a picture while I took notes.

The next morning on the way to school, I was the one being quizzed on my memory verses.  When I got to the end of James 1:1 and said the word "Greetings", Olivia stopped me and said, "That means charein in Greek!".  Emma chimed in, "Right! It really means Joy to You!"

"What? You girls were listening to that?"

They went on to tell me all the things they heard during our discussion and the video.  These girls who appeared to be tuned out completely while drawing and playing were hanging on every word.  I was so tickled by that and blown away!

Even in one of the busier days, The Word made a way into their hearts.

I love it.

I was reminded even more how much my girls need for me to love God and accept His love for me.  While they're under my care, they'll believe what I believe and they'll crave what I crave.

If you're taking this love journey with me this month, know that it will never benefit just you. There are people around you, certainly your own children if that applies to you, who look distracted and unaware, yet they're watching.

We are all looking for something real and we all have a sphere of influence around us.  Keep plugging in, letting the Truth change your heart and transform your mind.  A world is watching!

Walking in Truth:

Self image says:  I am DEPRESSED
God's image says:  I am HOPEFUL

Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost."
Romans 15:13

Scripture for the Heart:

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm,

and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

Isaiah 40:11

In my life I have not gotten a lot of things right. But, I have tried my best that my children would see me loving and serving the Lord. Even on days that I feel as if I have messed up, God is working in my children's hearts. There are so many times I want a do-over with each of them, that isn't possible. I am having to cling to that HOPE that the Lord has filled them when I have failed them.
Your girls are like sponges and they would not be that way without seeing you digging into the Word.
Love ya!!

Whew... this one is good! and also easily forgotten with me.... Im good at preaching DO NOT FEAR, HAVE FAITH, YOU CAN DO IT, DONT GIVE UP, IS THIS WHAT JESUS WOULD WANT YOU TO DO... I even have scripture for them all... but Im slacking in the just letting him see me do it and exercise faith like I talk about...
Love your devotions this month!!! Im really going to hate to see them stop. I look so forward to reading them each day and most of the time its something I need for that particular day. They have been such a blessing!

Who am I that he has loved me so much when I failed him so. I cannot even begin to wrap my fingers around it. But I know without a doubt that there has always been that unseen hand guiding my life. Where would I be without my Lord,he keeps me sheltered in is ever loving arms and sometimes he even lets me sit in his lap. What a Savior. I just want to shout and praise him today for always loving me,being concerned about me and never leaving this mess of a wife, mother and child of his.He knows my heart like no other and for that I am humbled and forever in love with him.

It blessed my heart to watch you interact with your girls at bible study.

Having them with you, I believe was God ordained. They were able to see their mother in action, loving & guiding other women in God's word. Your godly example is speaking volumes to them.

You have made another precious memory with your girls, which they will never forget!!!!!
