God's Redeeming Love {Day 22}: Surrendering Everything

{To enter the giveaway, click here}

One thing that has encouraged me over the past month is hearing from so many of you that are just starting to get serious about accepting God's love for you.  What once seemed impossible is now something you see as very attainable.  The excitement I sense in your emails and comments has cheered me on.  God's Word truly is LIFE and the only thing that can transform our hearts and minds.

There has never been a time in our Christian lives that God wasn't wanting so much for us to KNOW deep in our bones how much He loves us.  We just have to give Him complete surrender and permission.

My friend, Leslie, is very much in the midst of her journey.  God is doing a very new thing in her life and I'm thrilled I get to be close enough to watch it all unfold.

{Me, Leslie and Kim}

She is tenderhearted and thoughtful and will make you bend over laughing at the drop of a hat! She loves Jesus and has a heart to serve His people.  I love her so much.

Enjoy her testimony ...

When I think about Gods love for me I think of so many ways He loves me.

I think of big things like Him dying on a cross so that I can have eternal life.  That’s enough love to last a lifetime.

I also think back to my wedding day.  God put a man in my life that truly loves me like the Bible says he should.

The day my son was born is another image of Gods love.  I have never felt so much love for a human being like I did that day.  That day, I also fell deeper in love with my husband.

God loves me in small ways everyday.  He shows me things through scripture or a song that reminds me He is near.  He uses friends to send texts to tell me they are praying for me.

But the most recent act of love that has been overwhelming to me is Him showing me that I'm better than what I am allowing myself to be.  I have recently started a weight loss journey.  A hard journey!

I have tried everything in the book from diets, to exercise programs, to diet pills and many other things.   I never tried it with Jesus help!

For several months I prayed for something to change, for me to have enough strength and courage to get out of my comfort zone to better myself.

After months and months of praying, God opened a door not to an exercise program or fad diet but to my heart and my mind.  He loves me and my body is a temple for Him!  Therefore, to serve Him to my fullest, I had to make some changes physically.  It has been very hard and uncomfortable.  I have had to go to a gym where I feel completely out of my comfort zone but He has loved me through it.  He has put people in my path to encourage me DAILY.

For the first time ever I feel like I will overcome this and have victory over my weight.

Would you do me a favor? Would you take a minute and pray for my friend, Leslie, and for all the women who have read these devotions and committed to allow God's Word to show them something NEW? Let's encourage one another to keep pressing on.  We're almost to the finish line as far as devotions go, but God wants life-changing decisions.
