God's Redeeming Love {Day 28}: Be Doers of the Word

{The winner of the giveaway is Kim :) }

Well, here we are ... at the end of the month.

I will say this about this month, it has stretched me.  Yes, I had already processed most of what I shared each day, but opening up about what I've learned personally isn't always the easiest thing for me.  Hearing some of your stories stirred so many emotions, though even through the difficult things, I loved reading so many 'BUT GOD' moments.

I'm so relieved He has the final say.

We're studying the book of James in Bible Study now and I'm currently hung up on one thought.  James 1:22 says "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."

I've always read that verse knowing we're suppose to do what the word says, but our work this week brought out the idea that to be a doer of the word also means to accept what it says.  And to not do so is deception {to our ownselves}.  Accepting what the Word says is accepting Who we are in Him.

So, that's basically where we are at the end of this month.  Imagine we're standing at a crossroads and deciding what we'll do.  Will we take what we've heard and decide it all sounds nice and profound, but then choose to stay defeated? Or will we look down the road at victory that awaits us and walk in that direction?

Choose victory.  Do the work.  Stay the course.  Don't just be a 'hearer of the word' and live in deception.

God loves you with an everlasting love!

Deidre, I want to thank you for taking the time to investigate God's love for us from a variety of angles. It's been great to sit a while with the same thought and let it sink in and touch us.

Your effort, prayers and what God has done in you has blessed all who have tracked with you this month. Thank you.

my prayer for my family and myself #1 is that we all love Christ to our fullest ability... #2 that people we come in contact with KNOWS immediately we LOVE Jesus #3 That we have a PASSION to serve others and #4 that we are doers!! I don't want to EVER be a sideline Christian... and I don't want my family to be either.
I have taken away so much from this month of devotions! THANK YOU! I know it was a lot to take on but you have blessed so many! Im so thankful for your friendship! Love ya!

Precious friend, you amaze me with your obedience. Sharing your heart and your love for the LORD with all that will hear is a blessing to me. Along with the James study... when we are doers we will be blessed! His word says... But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. James 1:25 Are we doers because we want a blessing?? No, not at all. But it sure makes my heart smile when the Lord pours out blessing after blessing in my obedience. Thank you sweet friend!!
Love ya!!
