For a girl who has been gripped by fear most of her life, I knew when I had daughters of my own, I wanted them to live a life free from that type of bondage. As I learn to let Christ heal and redeem those fears in my own life and walk in faith fully trusting in Him, I hope to show my girls He is worth surrendering everything to.
In 2006, I studied the book of Esther to teach to my high school girls Sunday School class. It was at the same time, I decided to start this blog. Esther was providentially put in a position to save the children of Israel ... her people. The pages of Esther are filled with her decisions to simply be brave as she resolved to do what was right. ("If I perish, I perish", she says in Chapter 4, Verse 16.)
I have learned that surrendering to the Lord and walking in faith isn't always with the absence of fear, but is with the presence of courage .... knowing God will be with you at every step. That is what I want for myself and certainly for my girls.
So, Raising Future Esthers was born ...
This blog is more than just cute stories about my children and family, but is instead a picture of how God is working through me to raise girls that will love Him at all costs. Sometimes that manifests itself through particular spiritual lessons He's teaching me (that hopefully trickle down to them) .... other times, it manifests itself through just posting about what a day looks like in our house whether it be laundry, creating something fun or how we're coping in this world that is contradictory to how we believe. It is here that we express our gratitude for how God attends to our days.
